The great attraction of the Royal Tract, as well as of the whole capital, is the two palace-park complexes in Łazienki and Wilanów.
Both were established as summer residences of the kings. The 17th-century Wilanów was extended by King Jan III Sobieski in the Baroque style, and the Neo-Classical Łazienki was extended in the 18th century and turned into the summer residence of Stanislaus Augustus Poniatowski, the last king of Poland.
It is home to the magnificent Palace on Water and the unique Theatre on the Island. In summer, classical music concerts are held in both parks.
