Location
Ursus is the smallest of all Warsaw districts. It is situated in the Western part of the capital, 9 km away from the city centre. In terms of communication, the favorable location of Ursus at the confluence of international roads and railway lines has to be pointed out. Approximately 1 km from Ursus' Northern border the international E-30 (Poznań) road runs in the East-West direction. A few Kilometric to the South from Ursus, two international North-South roads run: E-67 Katowice road and E-77 Kraków road.
Culture and recreation
In Ursus district, there are two parks: Czechowicki Park (with the surface of 4 hectares) and Achera Park. Basic sport background is constituted by a gymnasium and fields located in all schools in Ursus. In the Niedźwiadek (Little Bear) residential area, there is an indoor swimming pool with accompanying facilities. The district also hosts a sport stadium where a sports hall, football fields with a running track and a stand, 2 fields for team games and 4 tennis courts, a fitness club and a sauna are located. Building of Olympic stadium has been launched. Moreover 2 galleries. 4 cultural centres. a cinema.
